September 3, 2020

Country artist Blanco Brown, the man behind 2019’s viral hit “The Git Up” was involved in a serious head-on collision on Monday night (August 31) near his home in Atlanta, GA.

According to a statement from his label, BBR Music Group, “The accomplished writer, vocalist and GRAMMY-nominated producer suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he underwent a 12-hour surgery to address those traumas. Additional surgeries are expected as he currently rests in the ICU. Blanco, his family and his friends ask for your prayers during this time.”

It is unclear at this time the extent of his injuries and exactly how they were sustained, but Brown, an avid rider, recently shared a photo of his "next level" Indian motorcycle and helmet on social media.

We'll keep an eye on the story and update as information becomes available.

The last time we saw Blanco was when he strolled through the RADIO.COM offices with Parmalee just before the pandemic struck, going up and down the elevators, and even surprising strangers on the street with roses and a treat to their song “Just the Way”.

Needless to say, there were a lot of happy faces in New York that day.
