Nothing about this past month was supposed to happen. A world forced into high alert and self-isolation, social distancing during a crisis, we’re all looking for a path forward. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, we’ve all been thrown into a new set of emotions and circumstances, reaching out to stay connected in a time when separation is so crucial.

It’s a sentiment that stands at the center of a surprise new song from Twenty One Pilots. Like most of the events we’re experiencing, “Level Of Concern” wasn’t supposed to happen, at least not now. However, Tyler Joseph felt the pull to put out the track and managed to tie it to an important cause.

“Always writing, but this one feels like it should just come out now,” the frontman shared on Sunday. “First song I ever wrote on electric guitar. I think it’s simple but hopeful.”

After a public correspondence with drummer Josh Dun, the wheels were in motion for this mirrorball-swirling, optimistic anthem from quarantine life for all of us to enjoy. Now just days later, it has arrived.

“Level Of Concern” from Twenty One Pilots is a RADIO.COM World Premiere, which means you can hear it here and stream it on the RADIO.COM app all throughout the day on Thursday April 9.

Just as the coronavirus crisis has shaken all of our ways of life, it’s sidelined the concert industry and the people that help bring you amazing shows at venues around the world. With that, a portion of all proceeds from “Level Of Concern” will go to Crew Nation, a fund set up by promoter Live Nation to help support live music crews that are currently unemployed and struggling from the lack of live music.

“No one knows when live music will get back on its feet,” Tyler continued in his string of tweets. “I’ve met so many amazing people working venues and touring with bands. Hopefully we can do something to help some through this song.”

“Level Of Concern” is now available everywhere. You can find more information about donating to Crew Nation here.
