With a majority of the state's population living in the most restrictive COVID-19 purple tier, California is weighing its options in terms of a curfew.

According to KCRA, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that 41 counties in California will be in the purple tier effective Tuesday. This is a massive shift from the 13 counties that were in the purple tier just last week.

Under purple tier guidelines, indoor operations for museums, houses of worship, gyms, and restaurants are not allowed. Indoor operations with modifications can be brought back under the less restrictive red tier.

California is also considering a possible curfew, with Newsom saying, "All of that is being assessed. We have a lot of questions about wht that looks like."
