Bradshaw Animal Shelter in Sacramento County has launched their new Dog Day Out Program that allows applicants to check a dog out for a day to give them a break from shelter life.

Suggested activities to do with a shelter dog in the program (via Sacramento County's website) include hiking, walking along the river, park picnics, couch cuddling, and grabbing puppucinos. These are all activities that shelter dogs have already benefitted from and could use more of!

If you want to participate in the program, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age and fill out the application with the SSPA (find it here). Applicants are then matched with a shelter dog, and then curbside checkout is scheduled.

Of course, adoption and fostering are options as well. Get more information here
