Northern California shoppers can expect to see plastic bag fees return now that the reusable bag ban has been lifted.

According to KCRA, reusable shopping bags were banned as part of an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. That ban was to last only 60 days, and now counties are beginning to reintroduce reusable bags to their stores.

KCRA says Sacramento County's health order was changed this week to reflect the change. They also say that shoppers can now be charged 10 cents per plastic bag (if they're not using reusable bags).

Do you feel safe shopping where people are bringing in their reusable bags? Do you think the ban should be extended? Should there have been a ban in the first place?

I don't think it's a terrible idea to extend the band another 30-60 days. I'm all about reusing a bag, and actually prefer to reuse bags. However, with a rise in coronavirus cases upon reopening certain establishments, maybe this is just another thing we should put on hold.
