Here's how to get same-day delivery from Target without paying for it

If you haven't joined Target Circle yet, now's the time.

If you're on Target's mailing list, you may have received a flyer in the mail about getting free same-day delivery for six months. This is especially great now that most of the state is back in the purple tier due to a rise in positive coronavirus cases, because we can save many trips to the store with this deal.

Getting the free delivery is pretty simple, but it takes a little work on your part. If you haven't signed up for Target Circle yet, do it. It's free to join and it's really simple. Just download the Target app on your phone and give them whatever information they need. (You can't get this deal without belonging to Target Circle, so that's totally up to you.)

Once you're all set up, you'll see a tab on the screen under "Discover" that says "Target Circle Offers." Click on that, and scroll through the "Top Offers" until you see "FREE 6-month Same Day Delivery Membership." This is only available until November 29, so you'll want to act quickly!

Click on the "+" sign to add the offer to your account. This will automatically start your membership.

Now, here's where the fine print comes in. This is still a really great deal, but here's what you need to know:

  • You need to make a minimum purchase of $35 for our order to qualify for Same Day Delivery.
  • Your membership will expire exactly six months from the date you started the membership (when you clicked the "+" symbol.)
  • Luckily, it will NOT renew automatically. The value of this membership is $49, so that's probably about what you can expect to pay if you want another six month membership. Though, I wouldn't put it past Target to raise the price if this promotion is successful.
  • You have to have a valid phone number on your account. They don't say why, but I think it's pretty obvious: if you want your order delivered, you need to be reachable. Don't be stupid and put a fake number, otherwise you risk having your order cancelled (probably).
