Many businesses are beginning to feel some relief in Sacramento now that we're in the Red Tier 2 phase of reopening, including Tower Theatre.

According to Fox 40, Tower Theatre has reopened at 25% capacity, which is in line with COVID-19 safety guidelines. This is the first time they've shown movies since temporarily closing seven months ago.

The theater's reopening doesn't come without big changes.

General manager David Parker tells Fox 40 that all staff will be wearing masks and gloves. Guests will also be required to wear masks while watching movies, but of course can remove their mask to eat and drink concessions in their seats.

Plexiglass partitions will divide moviegoers from staff at the concession stands, and floor stickers spaced six feet apart will help people follow social distancing guidelines. Every other row in the theater will also be blocked off.

New high-density filters in the HVAC system will also help filtrate the indoor air, says Parker.
