Don't get me wrong, if it's wine then I'll probably love it. But if the wine has cool labels and a unique experience attached to it, then it's even more appealing to me.

That's what stands out to me about Tank Garage Winery in Calistoga, California. Amongst all the fancy wineries you'll find in Napa Valley, Tank took a vintage service station and turned it into a winery that celebrates being different, standing out, and going against the grain. Who wouldn't love that message? They have cool labels, too!

If you haven't tried our 2018 I Love You California Red Wine, what are you waiting for?!? We partnered with @parksproject and @calparks for this anthem to our home state, and as part of our Tank Cares initiative, we're donating $1 for every bottle sold to the California State Parks Foundation. A blend of Sangiovese and Sagrantino, this medium-bodied red perfectly captures the sun-kissed vibes of summer and will leave you daydreaming of your next road trip down Hwy 1.

I think their photos speak for themselves, and this is a fun little spot to check out sometime. Honestly, their photos are what made me find the place on Instagram, actually. I mean, just look. For those of us who are maybe a little bit shallow and operate on finding the most Instagrammable spots or at least love aesthetically pleasing things, this is another place to check off the list.

Of course, with COVID, there are guidelines in place for safety and reservations are required ahead of time. In addition to tastings, they offer curbside pickup if you're just looking to take some bottles home with you after your day getaway in Napa. Check out their website before you head out!

Find them at 1020 Foothill Blvd in Calistoga.

We owe this masterpiece to our amazing winemaking team, who each harvest challenge themselves to elevate quality and character. While many Rosés are bled-off byproducts of Red wines, we approach Rosé with intentionality, picking each variety early in harvest specifically to make Rosé. With Wasted Love, we chose Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, and Counoise, a combination that our winemaker, Bertus, loves for their flavor and acidity. For this vintage, we bought a new press that can more delicately draw juice from the grapes without extracting harsh textures. We then whole-cluster-pressed each variety to minimize color extraction and preserve the smooth, fresh characteristics found in this Rosé. The 2019 growing season had a very cool start so we were able to really dial in our harvest date to keep with our goal of producing a Rosé in a Provencal style that also shows a bit more of the floral and delicate fruit notes that the vineyards we work with are capable of. --: @thesocalwinegal
